Ed Sheeran just cemented his reputation as one of the nicest men in music. The English singer made a surprise appearance at the wedding of a couple in Australia this week after hearing that they had chosen one of his hit songs for their first dance.

Ed, who is currently in Australia on a national arena tour, shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing with the newlyweds, shortly after serenading them with his guitar. "Just surprised this lovely couple's first dance," he captioned the picture. "Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah's."

The star took bride and groom Kya and Matt by total surprise when he arrived at their wedding just ahead of their first dance. Standing on a small stage with his guitar, the 24-year-old gave a very special performance of his number one single Thinking Out Loud for the shocked newlyweds.

Ed's appearance was orchestrated by KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O. Kya and Matt received their dream wedding after getting in touch with the radio show and revealing that their plans to marry a few years ago had to be delayed when Kya's mother passed away. The couple spent their savings on a funeral and had to postpone their wedding plans.

To make their nuptials even more special, hosts Kylie and Jackie O organised Ed’s appearance. The radio stars later shared: "#BREAKING Our #KJWedding is actually out KJwEdding with Surprise Guest Ed Sheeran!"

Ed has been keeping busy Down Under; earlier this week he was seen filming a cameo appearance for the hit soap Home and Away. The singer teamed up with Emily Symons, who plays long-standing character Marilyn Chambers, to film a scene on the Palm Beach set of the show.
